Council Minutes of October 22, 2002

 

Mayor King called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.  Roll Call showed present Councilperson Babbage, Bowdell, Burtka, Rossman, Tertzag, Tucci and Mayor King.  Also present was City Attorney Kruse and City Administrator Welch.

Councilman Babbage requested the City Administrator to hold a Department Head meeting to be to review the city finances and to make plans accordingly.

 

Councilwoman Rossman updated the Council on the progress of the Greenway Links Trails.

 

Mr. Schweitzer gave a presentation on the First Call program.

Resolved, that the City Administrator be authorized to implement the First Call program at a cost not to exceed $10,000 from a budget transfer from line item #101-999-821-000 Consulting Engineers.

Resolved, to concur with the City Administrator to exercise the city’s contractual rights to terminate the Court Services Programs by giving a ninety  (90) day notice, but consider any options presented by the Court, which may allow them to operate in a manner that we approve.

The City Administrator informed the Council that on Monday, October 28, 2002 the city, the Department of Veterans Affairs and Ford Land would hold a Community Forum in regards to the Veterans Hospital demolition.

Resolved, that the City Engineer be authorized to expend approximately $25,000 from the 2002-03 Budget for roadway design of the Southfield Service Drive, Van Born ramp to Outer Drive, to City Limits and authorization to budget construction cost of an estimated $60,000 from the 2003-04 budget.

The City Engineer updated the Council on the Rosedale Watermain Project.
