ELECTIONS The Clerk's Office is responsible for conducting all local, State and Federal Elections including issuing absentee ballots, hiring and training precinct workers and maintaining voter registration records. Anyone who is over the age of 18, a United States citizen, and a Michigan resident may register to vote in the following locations: |

Reasons for voting Absentee Ballot are as follows: - You are 60 years of age or older - You expect to be absent from the community in which you are registered for the entire time the polls are open on Election Day, 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. - You are physically unable to attend the polls without the assistance of another. - You cannot attend the polls because of the tenets of your religion. - You have been appointed an election precinct inspector in a precinct other than the precinct where you reside. - You cannot attend the polls because you are confined to jail awaiting arraignment or trial. Any registered voter who is over the age of 60 or who is permanently disabled may request to be placed on our permanent absentee voter list. This means that before every election the voter will receive an application for an absentee ballot in the mail automatically. This application must be completed and returned before every election. |
