Licenses and Permits
Business licenses are required for all businesses operating within the City with the exception of those that are licenses through the State of Michigan. License fees vary with the business and must be renewed every year (December 31st).
Licenses that do not require Council approval:

| Restaurant | $80.00 - $200.00 |
| Gas Station w/Convenience Store | $120.00 |
| Hotels/Motels | $200.00 |
| Banquet Halls | $200.00 - $300 |
| Amusement Distributor Fee | $150.00 |
| Mechanical/Amusement Device | $25.00/per machine |
| Pool Table | $10.00/per machine |
| Jukebox | $10.00/per machine |
| Going Out of Business | $100.00 (with inventory list and dates of sale) |
| Snow Plow/Landscaping | $20.00 |
| Sign Hangers | $100.00 (with proof of insurance) |
| Taxi Cab | $50.00 per cab with police inspection, proof of license of driver |
Licenses/Permits that require Council approval:
| Christmas Tree Lot License | $25.00 (plus $300.00 deposit) |
| Auctions | $50.00 (plus $1,000.00 bond and inventory list) |
| Curbside pick-up | $50.00 |
| Ice Cream Vendors | $100.00 per truck (with police inspection) |
| Door-to-Door Distribution of Flyers | $200.00 |
| Door-to-Door Solicitation | $200.00 |
| Sale of Fireworks | $50.00 (with Fire Department approval and $5 Million bond) |
| Block Party | FREE (with form containing residents signatures) |
