The City of Allen Park has many opportunities to live, work and play.  Our city offers the small town feel with it’s downtown movie theater, the summer Craft Street Fair and holiday parades. We have a historical museum in our residential neighborhood and community activity center in our downtown area. Our Parks & Recreation Department provides ice and sports arena; ball fields, tennis courts swimming lessons and senor activities. After a busy day, visit one of the retail shopping areas and the many great restaurants offering the best in cuisine. The city also offers miles of cycling, hiking trails. Allen Park is an advantageous location with easy access to major interstates and freeways. Thriving businesses, industry and commerce fuel the city's growth and there are ample housing opportunities. Allen Park is located ten miles southwest of Downtown Detroit and is 10 minutes from the Detroit Metropolitan Airport, and adjoins Lincoln Park on the east, Taylor on the west and Melvindale on the north. The area of Allen Park is 7.42 square miles and the total street mileage is 99.
