Allen Park Public Library

It is the mission of the Allen Park Public Library to provide quality library services that meet the informational, educational, and recreational needs of the diverse citizens of Allen Park.  The Allen Park Public Library also serves the residents of The Library Network communities through reciprocal borrowing agreements.  The Allen Park Public Library supports literacy, intellectual freedom, and equal access for all library users.

How to get your Allen Park Library card

For those age 18 years and over, bring your valid Michigan driver’s license with current Allen Park address or picture identification AND official documentation showing your name and Allen Park address, such as a current lease, gas or electric bill, or current tax bill to the Library for your Library Card.

For those under age 18, a parent or guardian (guardianship papers required) must bring above documentation to the Library. Parents who sign the child’s card will have access to account information and are responsible for materials.

You must present your library card or key fob when checking out materials at the Allen Park Public Library.

Sandi Blakney earned her Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education at The University of Michigan-Dearborn and her Masters Degree in Library and Information Science at Wayne State University.  She joined the staff at the Allen Park Public Library in 1998, and has been the director since 2002.  Sandi was instrumental in the library’s transition from a branch of the Wayne County Library to a municipal library.  In her spare time, Sandi enjoys reading, crocheting, and Tigers baseball.
